About Sundae
Sundae is a residential real estate marketplace that connects homeowners selling dated or distressed properties with a curated network of qualified property investors. Founded in August 2018 by Josh Stech and Andrew Swain — both veterans of the real estate and fintech industries — Sundae has raised $135 million across three funding rounds and operates in markets across California, Texas, Florida, Colorado, Georgia, and beyond.
Sundae's platform solves a longstanding problem in the real estate market: homeowners who need to sell quickly, or who cannot afford repairs before listing, have historically been forced to accept lowball offers from individual wholesalers. Sundae replaces that opaque process with a transparent marketplace where multiple investors compete, driving up offers for sellers. The company charges sellers no fees and can facilitate closings in as little as 10 days.
The company's most recent Series C round in July 2021 raised $80 million, co-led by Fifth Wall and General Global Capital, with participation from QED Investors, Wellington Management, Founders Fund, Susa Ventures, First American Financial, and others. Sundae continues to operate as a private company with an active marketplace and growing investor network.
